The Almshouses were established over 100 years ago by Evelyn Heseltine to provide homes for residents of Brentwood unable to afford homes of their own. There are six units each comprising a lounge, double bed room, kitchen and bathroom.

Residents pay no rent but are required to make a contribution to maintenance and heating costs. When a vacancy occurs, preference is given to applicants eligible for Housing Benefit rather than using a means test.

If you are interested in obtaining more information about the possibility of living in the Shen Place Almshouses at some time in the future please Email our Chairman NOW
